3.7.5 SMC and Timer Output Application
As was explained in “3.7.4 Timer Trigger Signal”, SMC shift
and TFF inversion timing differ depending on the timer mode.
The following is a description of a typical application in which
SMC is operated while the 8-bit timer is operated in the PPG
output mode.
When driving a stepping motor, a sync signal at the excitation
switchover timing is often necessary together with each phase
value (SMC output). In view of this, in this application the port 4
is used as the stepping motor control port and the sync clock
is output to TO1 (also used as P61).
