2.2.8 CAN Standby Control register (CANSTBY)
This register is used for shifting ML9620 to low power modes.
The STOP mode, the ML9620 will enter the sleep mode when the CAN bus is idle.
The STOP mode stops the
oscillation and the other all of internal circuits to save power consumption, holding the contents of the message
memory and the control registers.
Access to / from other nodes is therefore disabled.
The STOP mode is terminated if ML9620 detects a LOW level at
RESET pin or a falling edge at CS pin, then
the STOP bit is reset to ‘0’.
The SLEEP mode, the ML9620 will enter the sleep mode when the CAN bus is idle.
The SLEEP mode stops
the oscillation and the other all of internal circuits to save power consumption, holding the contents of the
message memory and the control registers.
The SLEEP mode is terminated if ML9620 detects a LOW level at
RESET pin or a falling edge at CS pin or a
falling edge at RX pin, then the SLEEP bit is reset to ‘0’.

Note
When both STOP mode and SLEEP mode are set at the same time, the ML9620 enters STOP mode.
At
reset, SLEEP bit is set to ‘0’.
