8.2.3.3 Mapping Nonimmediate Type 16-Bit CU Instructions
The 16 MIPS16 RR Minor opcodes shown in Table 8.8 are mapped to
an R-type 32-bit instruction format. All 16 Nonimmediate type 16-bit CU
instructions in the TR4101 opcode table are similarly mapped. The
MFHI, MFLO, MULT, MULTU, DIV and DIVU instructions are described
in Chapter 5, “16-Bit Instructions.”
Figure 8.24 shows the general format for the 16-bit (RR-type)
Nonimmediate CU instructions listed in Table 8.8.

Figure 8.25 shows how the RR-type 16-bit instructions available to the
CU are mapped onto a decompressed 32-bit R-type instruction. Refer to
the MIPS16 ASE for an explanation of MIPS16 register translations, for
