16 Real-Time Clock
16.1 Overview
The Real-Time Clock (RTC) runs off the 32.768 kHz clock to provide an accurate timer reference
for software. The RTC is equipped with second, minute, hour, and day registers, and supports start
and stop functions. An interrupt can be generated from selectable predefined timer sources or from
the internal programmable alarm.
16.2 Register Descriptions
The default base address for the RTC registers is F8000140h. All non-reserved register bits default
to 0 unless specified otherwise.

Busy (Read Only)
The Busy signal is used to read the second, minute, hour, and day timer registers. When
this bit is 0, the read values are guaranteed because the second, minute, hour, and day
timer registers are read during their stable periods (the register values are not changed
during this time). When this bit is 1, although software may read these registers, the read
values may be incorrect. For other registers, software can read them anytime, and the
read values are guaranteed. The busy = 1 status starts from 214 microseconds before the
timer update timing and lasts about 244 microseconds.

Reset RTC Counter
When this bit is read, the value returned is always 0.
Write 0 for normal mode
Write 1 to reset the 1–128Hz counter, all prescale counters and carry counters. The
second, minute, hour, and day counters are NOT reset. When software writes the timer
registers, software also should write 1 to this bit to clear carry outputs.
