TheCFIquerymodeoutputsCommonFlashInterface(CFI)datawhenthedeviceisread.Thiscan
beaccessedbywritingtheCFIQueryCommand(98h).TheCFIdatastructurecontains
informationsuchasblocksize,density,commandsetandelectricalspecifications.Onceinthis
mode,readcyclesfromaddressesshowninAppendixBretrievethespecifiedinformation.To
returntoreadarraymode,writetheReadArraycommand(FFh).

WordProgram(40h/10h)
Programmingisexecutedusingatwo

writesequence.TheProgramSetupcommand(40h)is
writtentotheCUIfollowedbyasecondwritewhichspecifiestheaddressanddatatobe
programmed.TheWSMwillexecuteasequenceofinternallytimedeventstoprogramdesiredbits
oftheaddressedlocation,thenverifythebitsaresufficientlyprogrammed.Programmingthe
memoryresultsinspecificbitswithinanaddresslocationbeingchangedtoa“0.”Iftheuser
attemptstoprogram“1”s,thememorycellcontentsdonotchangeandnoerroroccurs.
Thestatusregisterindicatesprogrammingstatus:whiletheprogramsequenceexecutes,statusbit7
is“0.”ThestatusregistercanbepolledbytogglingeitherF-CE#orF-OE#.Whileprogramming,
theonlyvalidcommandsareReadStatusRegister,ProgramSuspend,andProgramResume.
Whenprogrammingiscomplete,theprogramstatusbitsshouldbechecked.Iftheprogramming
operationwasunsuccessful,bitSR.4ofthestatusregisterissettoindicateaprogramfailure.If
