Description
The HDCP-3200 family provides all of the functions necessary for a full feature digital still camera. This chip contains
the complete system control and image processing required in a small, power efficient package. Able to connect directly
to an HDCS-2020 CMOS Image Sensor, the HDCP-3200 controls all aspects of the imaging process. The high
performance embedded CPU provides extensive flexibility for adding new features and customizing a design. The high
performance, low power hardware image pipeline produces unsurpassed image quality in a minimal amount of time.
Extensibility is also available through the multiple I/O ports.
On chip JPEG compression and decompression enable variable compression rates to maximize memory usage and
the capability to generate images for review and transmission to other devices. The HDCP-3200 connects directly
to FIR and MIR transceivers (Hxxx-xxxx), simplifying system design. A full driver set is available for IrDA 2.x
including Object Exchange 1.x and JetSend. Direct connectivity to an LCD or NTSC encoder allows for an
electronic, real-time viewfinder, image review, and additional system control including full color text overlay.
Compliant USB 1.1 support, including Windows drivers, is provided without additional external transceivers.
Support for the CompactFlash+ standard of removable media provides easy storage extension.
The HDCP-3200 is ideally suited for a wide range of still camera applications ranging from entry level digital still
cameras to embedded or accessory cameras to other mobile devices such as cell phones, handheld computers and
notebook computers. The low power design and small package make it an excellent fit for small form-factor
implementations. A full reference design (HDCE-3200) is available which incorporates all of the key features of
this device.
