THEORY OF OPERATION
TheMacroCellFLASH6isa6-bitsinglestepparallelanalogto
digitalconverter.Thearchitectureisbasedona380Ohm
polysiliconresistorreferenceladderandstaticCMOS comparators.
Thethermometercodeofthecomparatoroutputsisencodedina
fastROMencoderintostraightbinarycodewithCMOS logicsignal
levels.Thelastcomparatoroutputisconnectedunlatchedtothe
OVLoutput.Theareaoftheconverterissmall.Thecomparatorsdo
notneedautozeroingandthereforearefastandperformmnimal
kickbackontheanalogsignalinput.Theconversionrangeissetby
thereferenceinputsVREFPandVREFN.TheoutputOVLindicates
anoverloadconditionwhenVin>(VREFP-0.5*LSB).
POWER SUPPLIES
Theconverterrequiresasingle+3.3V powersupply.Thesupplies
foranaloganddigitalareseparatedandmaybeconnected
together.However, formaximumnoiseimmunityitis
recommendedtowirethemonchiptoseparatedpins, especially
