The μPD78081x devices are high-speed 8-bit microcontrollers with a CAN controller. The integration of the
high-speed microcontroller and the CAN controller, together with the high level of integration (using NEC’s
0.35-micron CMOS process technology), make these devices a cost-effective solution for many automotive
electronics and industrial control applications.
In addition to several memory configurations, the μPD78081x microcontrollers have low EMI emissions, two
on-chip oscillator circuits for low-power operation, 256 bytes of EEPROM, and a host of on-chip peripherals.
A flash version is also available. The products are supported by an extensive tool chain containing a soft-
ware simulator, C compiler, relocatable assembler, screen debugger, and in-circuit emulator.
